Neopets New Player Guide Well, if you're reading this, it is safe to assume that you're either fairly new to Neopets, or you're newly determined to be successful in Neopets. Success in Neopia is most commonly measured in bank status. However, bank status isn't the only thing that can make you successful. If you don't use 'chatspeak' and you aren't rude to others, you can build up a positive reputation on Neopets. Never, I mean NEVER post chain letters or beg for neopoints or items, as doing either of those can get your account taken away, and nobody will like you. May sound childish, "nobody will like you," but it is true. People will avoid and ignore you. Whether you are new or not, there are a few things you really should do every day, some of which involve free food. For example, some omelettes that you can get for FREE are very rare and can sell for a few thousand neopoints. Also, if you get a high enough level in Fishing, you can get some very expensive items. Tombola, Fruit Machine, and Coltzan's Shrine tend to give out expensive items such as Dubloons, Codestones, Faeries, and Paint Brushes! NEVER feed your pet unless you have a ton of extra junk food. You can put your pet into the NeoLodge for about 140nps per month and they will be happily fed. Now for the good stuff. Neopets.com has tons of flash games that pay you for playing. The highest amount of neopoints that you can get from any given game is 3000 nps, and the most from one play is 1000. There are certain times of the year, like November 15, 2007, where you can send your score 5 times. Every day there is a 'featured game' which gives you double your normal earned neopoints (If you were to earn 1000, you would get 2000). Notice, every month around the 25th, TNT (The Neopets Team) resets how many points you need to get a certain amount of neopoints. One example is, a few months ago, Zurroball needed a score of 200 to get 1000 nps. Today (Nov. 29, 2007) you need a score of 70. Some very good games to play to get great neopoints are as follows: Bouncy Supreme Defender Trainer Fashion Fever Ice Cream Machine Lost In Space Fungus Meerca Chase 2 Ultimate Bullseye 2 Whack a Kass Wingoball Zurroball There are also some games commonly called "Mirror Games" which means that they are linked to other sites, like addictinggames.com, but still award neopoints. The ratios, however, are NOT the same as their corresponding games. These seem to be the best: Ice Cream Machine Meerca Chase 2 Ultimate Bullseye Ultimate Bullseye 2 Whack A Kass Wingoball I cannot give you accurate scores for these games needed to give you 1k, because the amount changes every month. What I can say, however, is that if you like your score, and you like how many neopoints you get from that score, aim for that. With practice you will get better, and thus you'll get more neopoints. Neopets often has many sponsor games, which they need to keep the site up and running. Many of these games are very easy, and give you anywhere from 200-1000 points per play. There was one where all you had to do was find the characters and you could get up to 650nps each time. I won't give you a list because sponsor games are changing faster than this guide can update. If you dedicate 1 hour per day, 4 days a week, you can earn anywhere from 40,000nps to 360,000nps per week. Seem like a lot? Some of the most experienced players on here have items worth 40 million nps, plus what is in their bank! It all depends on how much time you are willing to dedicate to game playing, and how many games you are willing to play. Obviously, the more time and games, the more money you make. One way to make money, which I saved for last on purpose, is the Neopian Stock Market. The reason I saved this for last is because there is a chance you can lose money. In the stock market, you buy shares of a company for 15nps+ and sell when it goes up. You can only buy up to 1000 shares total per day. You can split this any way you want. It is best to buy many different things, in either 500 shares each or 1000 shares each. This can be quite costly, so make sure you have the neopoints. Here is an example of how the stock market works: TNPT opened at 15nps per share. You bought 1000 shares for a total of 15,000 nps. The next day, it opened at 17nps. What you paid 15,000nps for is now worth 17,000 nps. You can sell and make 2000, or you can hold onto it and wait until it is worth more. TAG opened at 15nps per share. You bought 1000 shares for a total of 15,000nps. The next day, it opened at 12nps. What you paid 15,000nps for is now worth only 12,000nps. You have lost 3000nps. This happens quite often. The stock market is something that I have made about 300,000nps off of, but others have lost millions. This is a personal choice, and by no means do you HAVE to do it.
