Neopets Game - Meerca Chase II

Meerca Chase II: With Meerca Chase II, we get the mode we grew up with, and 4 brand new ones! These are freestyle, maze, gravity, and ferocious neggs. Each of these modes has their own scoring system, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. With this guide, you can easily work your way up to 1000np per play!

Basic Mode: With this mode, you are basically playing Snake. However, unlike the original Meerca Chase, you can not wrap in rows: you have to go every other row/column, otherwise, you'll hit your tail when you turn. Also, you have to be more careful around the red neggs. If you're within a few pixels of the negg (not quite hitting it) you'll be done with. In order to get the current 485 points to make 1000nps, take your time and plan the safest route to get the neggs. When I play, about every 4 tries, I get a good negg, like fish or super.

Freestyle: This is a bit harder than the basic mode, because it is harder to get out of corners and away from walls. You go in circles most of the time, and with 10 points per Happy Negg (on hard) you can easily hit 500 points in no time. Just stay away from walls unless its absolutely necessary, and learn how sharply you can curve.

Maze: This mode has hedges of doom in the center of the screen, blocking off most everything. You get 12 points per Happy Negg, but the Red Neggs seem to pop up more often. The hedges arent too hard to get around, but you have to be just as careful. If you turn too sharply, you'll hit it. Sometimes the Red Neggs will block the exit between two hedges. When I play this mode, I dont seem to get the better neggs very often, but I have gotten to 500 with a little bit of practice.

Gravity: Type in "superextrahypergravitymode" to get to this mode. You get 18 points per Happy Negg, you move the same way as in freestyle mode, and you don't have to keep going at all times. Since you are being sucked in toward the center, you wan go up near a wall, get your negg, then position yourself so that being pulled helps you get away from Red Neggs. If you get too close to the drain, position yourself so that you are facing the complete opposite direction as the pull and hold hown the up arrow. Don't turn or it will slow you down. 4/5 times, you will escape the pull. Roughly 1 in every 5 games for me, I get an unlucky negg in the center of the drain. This basically means the game is over for you, and there's only a 50/50 chance of getting it before you lose. It is very easy to get upwards of 500 points, my highest was nearly 1200 points. You can get Fish and Super Neggs quite often with a little patience, and a Rainbow Neggs seem to pop up every now and then.

Ferocious Neggs: Type in "ferociousneggsareontheloose" on the main screen to access this mode. Ferocious neggs are literally on the loose. You only get 7 points per Happy Negg, but there are no red neggs (that Ive seen) Orange Neggs run around the screen, and if you hit one, its game over. I haven't had too many good neggs crop up, and if too many Ferocious Neggs get on the screen, there is no way to move around. It is basically Basic Mode with moving red neggs.

In order to get the Meerca Chase II avatar, you need 1250 points. I suggest practicing on Gravity Mode, as that racks up the most points. Since TNT keeps changing the NP ratios of the main games, it is only a matter of time before my scores are out of date. As of 11-23-07, you need roughly 485pts to make 1000 nps per play.
